My friend Lisa has gotten really good at it and I look to her to show me gluten free recipes she’s perfected. Linzer cookies come from Linz, the third largest city in Austria and home to the renowned Linzertorte, a traditional Christmas tart made of a rich buttery dough traditionally filled with black currant preserves. It’s not like regular baking, (which I am actually good at) it’s like learning a whole new craft, because the normal rules of baking don’t always apply. Over the years I’ve tried and failed miserably to bake gluten free treats. ( Added gluten is a class 2 carcinogen in case you didn’t know) Jump to Recipe This Linzer Torte Recipe is comprised of a delicious hazelnut and almond spiced crust and filled with a raspberry jam filling.
